As part of our commitment to providing leading-edge treatment practices, Healing Springs Ranch has created a “Board of Fellows”.

Comprised of industry leaders in specific areas of expertise, each member is an authority in research, clinical practices, and education. Many of their findings have been professionally published, and they are also established national and international lecturers.  This accomplished group of experts is directly involved in continually training and consulting with our clinical team, as well as providing educational opportunities to our clients.

Kathy Steele, MN, CS

Fellow

Kathy Steele, MN, CS has been in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia for over three decades. She was a co-founder and served from 1995 – 2016 as Clinical Director of Metropolitan Counseling Services, a psychotherapy and training center. She is also an Adjunct Faculty at Emory University. Kathy is a Fellow and a past President of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) and is the recipient of a number of awards for her clinical and published works, including the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award from ISSTD. She has authored numerous publications in the field of trauma and dissociation, including three books. Ms. Steele is known for her humor, warmth, respect, and depth of knowledge as a clinician and teacher, and for her capacity to present complex issues in easily understood and clear ways. She is sought as a consultant and supervisor, and as an international lecturer on topics related to trauma, dissociation, attachment, and psychotherapy. Dana Ross, MD, MSc, FRCPC

Fellow

Dana Ross, M.D. is a psychiatrist in the Trauma Therapy Program at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, Canada. The Trauma Therapy Program specializes in treating those who have experienced childhood interpersonal trauma. She practices trauma-focused individual and group therapy and is a lecturer in the Division of Equity, Gender, and Population at the University of Toronto. She has a strong interest in teaching and education and has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate classes at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Ross completed her psychiatry residency in Ontario, Canada, at the University of Toronto and Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She completed a Master of Neuroscience degree at the University of Calgary, in Calgary, Alberta, and finished her undergraduate degree in psychology at York University in Toronto. She is a member of the Student and Emerging Professionals Committee of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). She recently began her first term on the ISSTD Board of Directors.

She has had numerous speaking engagements across North America with a focus on trauma, education, and psychotherapy. Dr. Ross co-chairs the Trauma Talks conference (www.traumatalks.ca) in Toronto, which is a conference focused on the concept and practice of trauma-informed care.

Dr. Ross was born in Inuvik in the Northwest Territories in Northern Canada and is of Dene descent. She identifies as Métis. Her interests outside of psychiatry include writing, movies, and painting.

Dolores Mosquera

Dolores Mosquera is the Director and psychologist at INTRA-TP, Institute for the Research and Treatment of Trauma and Personality Disorders in A Coruna, Spain. She has lectured internationally on EMDR and is an EMDRIA-accredited facilitator and consultant. She has published a series of books on EMDR including Borderline Personality Disorder and EMDR Therapy and EMDR and Dissociation, A Progressive Approach. Her published papers include Application of EMDR Therapy to Self-injury and Self-harming behaviors, and Understanding and Treating Narcissism with EMDR Therapy.

Charles S. Lowery, Ph.D

Charles S. Lowery, Ph.D. is President and CEO of Lowery Institute for Excellence, Inc., a non-profit training and consulting organization. Dr. Lowery’s diverse background includes leading a psychological private practice, serving as a college professor, working as a management consultant, and speaking as a corporate motivator. For ten years he was pastor of Hoffmantown Church, which was one of the fastest-growing churches in America. Hoffmantown baptized over 3000 people during his years there and planted Sagemont Church that now runs over 12,000. Charles’ unique style of humor, encouragement, and motivation has made him one of the most sought after speakers in the country.

Dr. Lowery has helped to train and motivate sales forces, management teams, and employees in companies as well as staffs and congregations across America. Dr. Lowery holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from the University of South Carolina.

Kenneth Schmidt, MA, LPC, NCC

Kenneth Schmidt is a Catholic priest of Kalamazoo, MI, where he was ordained in 1981.  He has served as an associate pastor in two parishes.  He has served in various roles in the diocesan Tribunal since 1992 when he earned a doctorate in canon law.  For twenty-one years he served as a campus minister and Pastor of St. Thomas More Catholic Student Parish, and recently was named as pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Portage, MI.  He also serves his diocese as the Director of the Office of Priestly Life and Ministry.

Ken earned a master's degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.  He is a co-founder of the Trauma Recovery Program in the Diocese of Kalamazoo, and co-founder and Executive Director of Trauma Recovery Associates. TRA educates and fosters the development of organizational leaders, human service providers, and trauma survivors themselves to respond more effectively to the impact of childhood trauma.  TRA has trained in 23 states and seven countries. To learn more about Kenneth Schmidt visit his website.

Colin A. Ross, M.D.

Fellow

Colin A. Ross, M.D. completed medical school at the University of Alberta and his psychiatry training at the University of Manitoba in Canada. He is a Past President of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and is the author of 200 papers and 28 books. He has spoken widely throughout North America and Europe, and in China, Malaysia, Australia, and New Zealand. He has been a keynote speaker at many different conferences and has reviewed for over 30 different professional journals.

Dr. Ross is the Director of hospital-based Trauma Programs in Denton, Texas, Torrance, California, and Grand Rapids, Michigan. He provides weekly cognitive therapy groups at all three locations, in-person in Texas and by video conference in Michigan and California. He has been running a hospital Trauma Program in the Dallas area since moving to Texas in 1991.

Dr. Ross’ books cover a wide range of topics. His clinical books focus on trauma and dissociation and include Dissociative Identity Disorder. Diagnosis, Clinical Features and Treatment of Multiple Personality, Second Edition (1997); Schizophrenia: Innovations in Diagnosis and Treatment (2004); The Trauma Model: A Solution to the Problem of Comorbidity in Psychiatry (2007); Trauma Model Therapy: A Treatment Approach for Trauma Dissociation and Complex Comorbidity (2009); and Structural Dissociation: A Proposed Modification of the Theory (2013).

Dr. Ross has published a series of treatment outcome studies in peer-reviewed journals, which provide evidence for the effectiveness of Trauma Model Therapy. Many of his papers involve a large series of cases, with original research data and statistical analyses, including a paper entitled ‘Trauma and Dissociation in China” in the American Journal of Psychiatry.

Katherine Glenn, Ph.D.

Katherine Glenn, Ph.D. is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist in North Carolina. She is also nationally certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors as a National Certified Counselor and as a Masters Addictions Counselor. Dr. Glenn is certified in the Trauma Model by the Colin Ross Institute in Richardson, Texas, and she is recognized as a Diplomate and Clinical Mental Health Counseling Specialist in both the subspecialties of Substance Abuse and Co-occurring Disorders Counseling and Trauma Counseling by the American Mental Health Counselors Association. Dr. Glenn has been in private practice for over twenty years in Greensboro, North Carolina, and is a founding partner at Triad Counseling and Clinical Services, LLC, where she specializes in the treatment of trauma and addictions.

Dr. Glenn has served on the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors for four years, and she currently serves as the Ethics Chair of the Board. She is a founding board member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of North Carolina. She has been recognized by the Counselor Education Department at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as Distinguished Practitioner and she has served on the Advisory Board for the Department since 2009. A special interest of Dr. Glenn’s is working with impaired professionals, and she is presently working to establish a professional well-being program for impaired counselors in North Carolina.

Since 2002, Dr. Glenn has consulted with Linda Alexander, MS, LPC, LCDC in the treatment of addictions and trauma using a cognitive and experiential model of treatment developed by Ms. Alexander. This model of treatment most successfully treats the dual processes of compartmentalization and detachment, which are central to addiction-related and trauma-related disorders. Steven R. Vazquez, Ph. D. , LPC-S, LMFT

Steven Vazquez is a compassionate therapist who is also results-oriented. He is a licensed professional counselor and a licensed marriage and family therapist with over thirty-five years of experience.

Dr. Vazquez originated the powerful new method of Emotional Transformation Therapy® (ETT®) and has trained hundreds of professionals in eight countries. ETT® can alleviate emotional distress in seconds, physical pain in minutes, and conditions that would normally take several months can often be resolved in just a few sessions. He also developed a new form of non-touch energy medicine that has revolutionized treatment and brought peace to hundreds of people.

Dr. Pat Love

Dr. Pat Love is known for her warmth, humor, and practical, research-based wisdom. Her blog posts, YouTube clips, books, trainings, workshops, and online courses have made her a popular go-to relationship consultant. Her work has been featured on TV, in cyberspace, and popular magazines, but she’s also a distinguished professor, licensed marriage and family therapist, and a long-standing clinical member and approved supervisor in American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Dr. Love (yes that is her real surname) has authored/co-authored six books, has written numerous professional publications, and has developed multiple training programs including Love Education™. Her work has taken her around the world to help people understand and improve their relationships.

Dr. Love received her doctor of education in counselor education from West Virginia University. She was a tenured associate professor at Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas for six years before establishing the Austin Family Institute in Austin, Texas. Dr. Love also served as president of the International Association for Marriage and Family Counseling.

Katrena Hart MS, LPC-S, TEP, CBT

Katrena Hart MS, LPC-S, CBT, ATA, CETT, TEP is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Supervisor (LPC-S) in private practice in Allen, Texas. She is a Certified Bioenergetic Therapist (CBT) and serves on the board for the Dallas Society of Bioenergetic Analysis as well as on the training committee. She is an Advanced Training Analyst (ATA) as a bioenergetic clinician. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She is also trained in Dr. Steven Vasquez’s ETT light box therapy (CETT). She is a Practitioner & Trainer of Psychodrama (TEP) and a trained Mediator. She is the Founder of Bridging Harts Psychodrama Training Institute & Psychotherapy.

Katrena’s training in Psychodrama began in 1994 under Doctors Mort and Dorothy Satten. She has trained with Zerka Moreno, Terry Rustin, and many more renowned Psychodramatists. She has led personal growth weekends using psychodrama and has taught psychodrama to many clinical agencies, universities, and many of her students. She has created an energetic and thriving psychodrama training program. Her students are an advanced and creative group of individuals who have committed to the psychodramatic process and have created a supportive and loving community of professionals.

Katrena explores with each client a variety of tools depending on the personality of the client and the desired focus of the session. She is creative and energetic and is willing to take risks with each client to help them rediscover their true potential.

Katrena is also a mom of two growing and active boys. She and her husband, Chris, are raising their children as working parents. This helps her to understand the rigors and struggles of creating a life of balance and connection.
